Unparalleled impact

Being on staff isn’t the easiest summer job you’ll have, but the impact and experiences can’t be found anywhere else. While most of our staff members were once campers, we are always looking to add staff who want to be part of a community that puts kindness, camaraderie and growth into action.

BUILD YOUR FUTURE

Gone are the days where test scores, grade point averages and transcripts determine your future. Recruiters, whether at a company or a university, want to know what life experiences shaped you into the person you are. Leading a wilderness trip, managing a cabin, and teaching a class are all things that will set you apart. Countless alumni talk about how much their camp experiences helped them find their path and taught them how to successfully manage a team, classroom or company.

NEVER A DULL MOMENT

In the morning, you’ll teach a class. In the afternoon, you’ll prep for an upcoming trip or help organize a game on the ball field. After dinner, there are more activities, and by nightfall, everyone will be in his cabins. It’s not a job for everyone, but if you are curious about the world around you and care for others, you’ve found a home.

We understand being a camp counselor is a full time job, so we’ve implemented schedules that allow the staff to recharge. Free time and days off are part of the equation. When not on duty, the staff cabin is a place to relax, check in online, read a book, or hang out with other staff members.

Set up for SUCCESS

We take staff training and support seriously. Before camp starts, we offer three to seven days of training that includes nationally recognized certification in Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Responder, Lifeguard and Water Safety, Whitewater Skills at University of Minnesota’s Duluth/St. Louis River outpost, and seminars on staff and camper mental health, nutrition, risk management, and every class’s curriculum. During the summer, seasoned counselors serve as mentors and free time is part of the schedule.
